    Fnac

Following a worldwide prospective study about cultural mobility, the French cultural network Fnac commissioned l’ateliergh for the integration of certain concepts in the renovation of their Montparnasse store.

The André Essel library, thought as a tribute to the Fnac network co-founder, is a connected and adaptable space that can be changed into a conference room, a forum, a library or an exhibition room.

The André Essel library, thought as a tribute to the Fnac network co-founder, is a connected and adaptable space that can be changed into a conference room, a forum, a library or an exhibition room.

Located at the last floor of the Montparnasse Fnac store, this ‘experiencial’ place invites visitors to take part in the stories of books, by listening to the story told by the library itself. Walls can eavesdrop and libraries can speak. An interactive rain of letters shows the messages of librarians. A typically Parisian rotary column used for advertising, known as Colonne Morris, transmits interactive messages and retraces the history of the Fnac network and major social events from the 1950s to 2100.
